NFL PLAYOFFS: WHO WILL WIN THE 2011 SUPERBOWL!?!

By CDR

NFL’s 2011 Wildcard Weekend definitely did not disappoint. With the exception of the Baltimore Ravens/Kansas City Chiefs showing on Sunday afternoon, all the other NFL playoff games provided great entertainment with nail-biting performances by each team representing the AFC and NFC. If you somehow missed this crazy weekend, which by the way, “SHAME ON YOU”, Blogsurface is here to the rescue! Below is a summary of two games in which “upsets” definitely were in complete form.

Seattle Seahawks Vs. New Orleans Saints – The 2010 Superbowl Champ Saints go to Seattle to face the horrible 7-9 Seahawks. It was a tight game throughout the first half as the Seahawks were suprisingly determined keeping the game close with a 24-20 lead over the Saints. The Saints in the 2nd half fought back like they always do, but it was not enough. Marshawn Lynch, runningback for the Seahawks exploded for a 67 yard touchdown as what some people are now calling ” the best run in playoff history”.

Final Score: 41-36 Seattle wins and move on to the 2nd round!

New York Jets Vs. Indianapolis Colts – Another game that went down to the wire! The Colts striked first with a long touchdown pass to Pierre Garcon putting Indy up 7-0 through the first half. In the 2nd half, the New York Jets started to put some big runs together and deliver the “ground and pound” game. After the third quarter, the Colts were hanging on to a 10-7 lead. Another Jet running TD by Ladainian Tomlinson put New York up 14-10. With the game coming to a close in the 4th, the amazing Peyton Manning drove down the field to Jets territory and orchestrated a field goal to take the lead once again 16-14. But with 53 seconds left in the clock, a 40+ yard kickoff return by Antonio Cromartie put the Jets in great field position. Two catches by Braylon Edwards and the Jets were finally in field goal territory. With three seconds left in the clock, Jets call a timeout. The newly acquired kicker this year, Nick Folk was clutch as he kicked the New York Jets to victory.

Final Score: 17-16 JETS win and move on to the 2nd round!

The Wildcard Weekend finished strong with the last game on Sunday night. The Philadelphia Eagles against the Green Bay Packers. It was a fantastic sight and a close game as well. Packers pulled it off in Philadelphia sending Michael Vick and the Eagles home.

Final Score: 21-16 Green Bay wins and move on to the 2nd round!

As for the Ravens and Chiefs game, well as mentioned earlier in the post, it was a blowout. Ravens win 30-7.
