UFC Fighter Jon “Bones” Jones was at a park in the midst of his daily meditating routine in Paterson, NJ. The MMA fighter was preparing for his upcoming fight against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at the Newark Prudential Center. During the meditation, the fighter had heard a woman scream informing that a thief had just robbed her. Jon “Bones” Jones along with his crew ran after the anonymous robber and took him down. After catching the thief, Jon “Bones” Jones placed the robber in a figure-four leg lock and waited until the New Jersey authorities entered the scene. It was an exhilarating moment for the UFC Fighter.
Do you ever wonder what a robber/criminal is thinking before he or she commits a crime? From knowing what to do step by step to planning where to go after the crime has been committed? In most cases, this criminal had everything under control and knew exactly how things would pan out. In this instance however, running into a known UFC fighter after committing the crime was definitely NEVER part of the plan.
During that same night, Jon “Bones” Jones clashed with his opponent for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title and won in decisive fashion. You could make a statement that this UFC fighter had started early with his “pre-game” warm-ups and was ready to annihilate anything and anyone that moves. It was evident that Jon “Bones” Jones is not a fluke and was the favorite for a reason. After winning the fight, Jones became the youngest UFC champion in history. It was a wonderful night and overall a great day for a champion, such as Jon “Bones” Jones, but a terrible and awkward evening for the anonymous robber. There is a lesson to be had with this situation. Before committing a crime, make sure to check if there is a UFC fighter lurking as part of the “crime checklist.”
At the end of the day, it was another grueling loss and tough break for the bad guys.
