With only two games left in the 2010-11 NBA schedule, the Chicago Bulls look to finish the regular season in a positive fashion. All sixteen teams from both the Eastern and Western Divisions have clinched their spots for the NBA playoffs. The “fireworks” are set to begin and the whole world will be watching.
Here are the teams participating in the Eastern Conference Playoffs. (Based on Current Standings)
• Chicago Bulls
• Boston Celtics
• Miami Heat
• Orlando Magic
• Atlanta Hawks
• New York Knicks
• Philadelphia Sixers
• Indiana Pacers
A majority of these teams, such as the Celtics and the Magic have been in the playoffs in the past and have had great “runs” throughout the playoffs. Something tells us that things might be a little different this year. The Chicago Bulls are the East’s #1 seed and has, bar none, the best point guard in the league in Derrick Rose. The Chicago Bulls were a young team last year and experienced a heart-breaking Game 7 loss to the Boston Celtics in the first round. This year promotes a totally different outcome. The Chicago Bulls are ranked first in overall defense in the NBA only allowing 97.4 points per game. The Bulls have proved time and time again that this team is capable of beating anyone at anytime.
It’s apparent that the Chicago Bulls have gotten better since last year, but even a blind man would know that the team’s point guard, Derrick Rose, is the ultimate reason why the Chicago Bulls are on a different level. During the 2010-11 NBA season, Rose is currently averaging 24.9 points, 7.9 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game. This elite point guard can be easily considered as the Most Valuable Player in the league. If those statistics do not yet fascinate you, here are more outstanding facts. According to research, Derrick Rose has annihilated the seven teams in the East that will be participating in the playoffs.
When facing these teams, D-Rose has averaged 25.7 points, 7.6 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game. This point guard for the Chicago Bulls has surpassed his season average in two out of the three categories when going against the top teams in the East. If you think Derrick Rose is not going to play championship caliber basketball in the playoffs, we highly urge you to re-consider.
