A Bold Statement: Chicago Bulls Legend Scottie Pippen Thinks LeBron James Is A Better Player Than Michael Jordan

Early Friday morning, Scottie Pippen released numerous statements that shocked many people in the basketball world. According to ESPN.com, after the Miami Heat had beaten the No.1 seed Chicago Bulls in the 2011 NBA Playoffs, Pippen expressed his opinion in regards to the greatest athlete to ever play the game of basketball.

“Michael Jordan is probably the greatest scorer to play the game, but I may go as far as to say LeBron James may be the greatest player to ever play the game because he is so potent offensively that not only can he score at will but he keeps everybody involved.”

There is no doubt that LeBron James will be one of the greatest players to ever play the game, but Michael Jordan simply changed the livelihood of the sport of basketball. It’s difficult to compare both players, not because of the time difference, but for the sole reason that LeBron James has not yet won a championship.

Michael Jordan has won six NBA titles and was the face of the team for many years.
The goal of any basketball player in the NBA is to win the Larry O’Brien Trophy and everything else would come secondary. Unfortunately, LeBron James has not yet experienced the feeling of victory at its highest peak; therefore fans must always remember this great saying:

“Success is measured through championships and not by overall talent.”

Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, which is the reason why the sport of basketball will always live forever. LeBron James still has many mountains to climb before he can reach the top, which Michael Jordan has already long ascended.

At this current time, LeBron James is considered a great player, but Michael Jordan is known to be a celebrated champion.
