All signs point to frustration when speaking about the mega-blockbuster fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

The Pacquiao-Mayweather fight, which many boxing fans consider to be this decade’s “Ali vs. Frazier”, appears to be in a standstill. The negotiation process has been ongoing between Floyd Mayweather’s camp and Manny Pacquiao’s promoting team led by Top Rank’s own Bob Arum.

On April 2011, surprising news had made its way to the inner circles of the media, which then leaked everywhere in the world. It was stated that Floyd Mayweather had been given an initial offer worth 50 million to fight Manny Pacquiao for the WBO Welterweight Title. Mayweather’s camp dismissed the offer and appeared to want more money for the fight.

In a video provided by ES News, Manny Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum had been present for an interview regarding the fight between the top two pound for pound boxers in the world. According to Arum, Floyd Mayweather has now declined a second offer totaling 65 million to fight Manny Pacquiao.

Rumors have already spread that a third offer worth approximately 80 million would be delivered to Mayweather after the Pacquiao-Marquez fight given that Pac-Man gains the victory.

Many boxing fans have long waited for this fight to happen. The idea of both of these wonderful fighters going toe to toe will be a sight worth every penny.

Will this negotiation battle ever end? Will Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather ever fight?

According to Bob Arum and the below video, the promoter stated the following statements:

“Well, I am an optimist and I always felt that they would eventually fight. At this point, I really feel that they’d never fight.”

Bob Arum continued by stating very strong comments regarding the reason why Mayweather is constantly avoiding the Pacquiao fight.

“He [Mayweather] doesn’t want to fight Manny Pacquiao and he’s smart not to fight Manny Pacquiao because truth be told, everybody who knows boxing knows that Manny Pacquiao would clean his clock.”

It has definitely turned into a huge soap opera and only time will tell if both fighters will finally come to an agreement. The money is on the table, the excitement is waiting to burst, and the drama is already here. At this point, there’s only one way to go about business and that is to make this fight happen for the legacy of both great fighters, the amazing fans, and most importantly, for the sport of boxing.
