One doesn’t need to be a brain surgeon to understand that a quarterback is only as good as his wide receivers and vise versa. Not too many signal-callers can compare themselves to Peyton Manning or Tom Brady; therefore every quarterback in the NFL will be the first to tell you that it’s highly important to have a “go-to” receiver.

Back in Buffalo, news surfaced today that upcoming star wide receiver; Stevie Johnson had just signed a five-year deal worth $36.25 million dollars with the Bills.

According to NYDailyNews, Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick was very excited to hear the announcement.

“I’m fired up,” Fitzpatrick said in a conference call on Monday. “This shows a lot about Stevie, and this shows a lot about where the Bills are headed. Being our go-to guy in the receiving corps and being a huge playmaker for us, it was a must in terms of re-signing him.”

If you thought the Buffalo organization was elated with the signing, feast your eyes on QB Ryan Fitzpatrick’s new haircut of appreciation for his “go-to” receiver. The Bills’ quarterback decided to give himself a new haircut by trimming the words “He’s Back” on the side of his head.

What Fitzpatrick really meant to shave was “Thanks for saving my job Stevie!”

  1. I hope Stevie matures. He sounds like he is aware of his current situation and how lucky he is to have an organization willing to heavily invest in his potential. Indeed, I would expect Ryan to be thrilled. Bad hair-cut decision, however…especially from a guy with his education!

    • CDR says:

You’re 100% correct Bruce. If there is one downside to Stevie Johnson, it would be his lack of maturity for sure. In terms of Ryan Fitzpatrick… definitely a bad haircut, but at least he got his man back.

Fitzpatrick needs as many weapons as is humanly possible if the Bills are to fare well this upcoming season and that is a bonafide fact! On the other hand I do believe that the Jets will struggle because that team has definitely taken more than one step backwards!

      Hey Alan,

Thanks for the comment. It was definitely an important move for the Bills to keep Stevie Johnson, being that he was one of the staples on the team. The Bills will need to sign more talented free agents this offseason if they wish to climb up in ranks in the AFC East.

  3. Stevie’s return and that haircut will still only get Buffalo about six or seven wins next season.

But it’s okay, Bills fans. They’ll tease you with a hot start just like they did last year and end up coming short.

Oh, and you better start hoping there’s no truth to all those “Peyton to Miami” rumors too.

    • CDR says:

You’re right Chris, the Bills have been doing that lately. Winning a bunch of games in the beginning only to fall short in the end. I had Fred Jackson on my fantasy team and he was great until he got injured. If those “Peyton to Miami” rumors come true, the AFC EAST will be a big time party!

  4. Bobby Charts says:

Did his five year old son give him this hair cut? LOL!

    • CDR says:

The haircut is really bad right Bobby? Ryan Fitzpatrick must really love getting Steve Johnson back. hehe

  5. Yup…that is about of spot on of a translation that I have ever heard. Sadly, the presence of Johnson might not be enough to save Fitzpatrick’s job, as we mustn’t forget that Ryan had 8 games last season where his QB rating was between 78.6 and 45.8. Ugly.

    • CDR says:

Stevie Johnson might not cure everything for the Bills, but he surely helps the team by providing that deep threat attack. I’m with you Jed, the Bills probably will make some noise in the beginning of the season, but will not do enough to make believers out of anybody. Where’s Jim Kelly when you need him?

  6. chappy81 says:

Stevie is as up and down as Fitzpatrick, but a solid receiver. I’m somewhat of a closet Bills fan since my best friend loves them. Hopefully this turns out well, but I’m sure he’d tell me it wont…

    • CDR says:

I am sorry to say, but I am leaning towards your friend here regarding the Bills. Sure, they have some weapons in offense, but their defense doesn’t have enough ball hawks to keep the team in the game for most of the season. Thanks for stopping by Chap!

  7. Sam Brief says:

This is hilarious. It’s always great to see such great chemistry between teammates.

    • CDR says:

It’s great to see Ryan Fitzpatrick supporting his wide receivers… More importantly, the Bills have Stevie Johnson back, which always is a plus.

  8. As a Bills fan I’m thrilled but Stevie J needs to grow up a little bit, or at least adhere to the rules set forth by the coaching staff to ensure we get the most out of him.

Now the Bills need to trade for Freeney, sign V Jax and draft Courtney Upshaw and we’ll be going to the Super Bowl!

    • CDR says:

I would agree myself that Stevie Johnson needs to mature and be a true leader to the young players of the Buffalo Bills. V-Jax is a good player, but I think any team would benefit more from Dwight Freeney. Super Bowl? I am not sure about that, but it’s great to have optimism… I am the same way!
