NBA Superstar Girlfriend No Longer Allowed To Sit Courtside

When it comes to die-hard fans of the Miami Heat, actress Gabrielle Union definitely fits the bill. American actress and former model just happens to be the longtime girlfriend of Miami Heat superstar, Dwyane Wade.

Most NBA girlfriends who attend their boyfriend’s games usually sit quietly in courtside, look beautiful, make gestures and yell out once in a while based on the happenings of the game. Gabrielle Union is totally different.

The 39-year-old bombshell [definitely doesn't look like Union is 39!] made it a priority to heckle and scream at her man if “D-Wade” wasn’t playing well. However, Gabrielle Union never discriminated. The established movie star also found the time to irritate and provoke other opposing athletes who were playing against the Miami Heat. When it came to being loud and focused into the game, Gabrielle Union was not afraid of letting any athlete hear it, even her boyfriend, Dwyane Wade.

This week, Union visited Conan O’Brien on his late-night TBS program to promote her latest movie, “Think Like A Man.” We come to find out that all the badgering and shouting out to players had been taken away. Gabrielle Union explained why.

“I’m bad, I don’t sit courtside… that got killed when I became as vocal,” Union said.

It seemed that All-Star NBA player, Dwyane Wade had requested for the love of his life to move a few rows back because the Heat talented shooting guard was hearing everything and didn’t appreciate all the negative feedback. If you ask me, that’s hilarious.

“I’m like Dance Mom,” Union continued to say. “I become like Bobby Knight [retired basketball coach who was known for many temper tantrums] and the Great Santini. Brick! You know… Air ball! Who’s going to tell him [Dwyane Wade] if not me?”

Gabrielle Union is definitely a playful bully. The actress had also mentioned that she even went after the officials, such as veteran referee, Dick Bavetta. During a game when Bavetta didn’t seem to be calling fouls, Union felt the need to take things into her own hands.

“You’ll get your Viagra if you just make a call,” the actress yelled out.

We’re surprised Dwyane Wade didn’t get a technical for that one. With everything set and done, while it might be a bit annoying to have a girlfriend who constantly yells out certain negative remarks, it’s also great to have someone that fully supports and loves what her other half is doing for a living.

You can’t knock Gabrielle Union for that.

  1. Gregory says:

As a Miami Heat fan, I just think this is wrong. There are worse things she could be banned for. She pays for the seats to see her man play, nothing wrong in that sense.

    • CDR says:

Thanks for the comment Greg! Appreciate it! Gabrielle Union wasn’t technically “banned.” The actress more or less just respected her boyfriend Dwyane Wade’s request to sit a few rows back. Hilarious to say the least.

  2. Jeremy Wiebe says:

I’d let Gabrielle Union yell at me if it meant some special time later. If D-Wade don’t want her, I’ll take her.

    • CDR says:

Funny Jeremy! Gabrielle Union must be a real heckler for D-Wade to want her off courtside. I am pretty sure Gabrielle is just trying to support her man and Wade doesn’t care too much. How could you really get mad at a beautiful lady like her right?

  3. Mel says:

I think this is hilarious… I love that she is so supportive of her love, although taking it to the point of embarrassing him is crossing the line. She’s supposed to be there to support, not to be a part of the show. Actresses.

I am further inspired by the fact that she is 39 as she looks terrific!

    • CDR says:

I knew you’d love the post Mel. Thanks for stopping by. For Gabrielle Union to allow herself to be pushed back shows a lot of character on her part. Most actresses would’ve went berserk. Also, in terms of Gabrielle being 39, I couldn’t believe it either… she looks great!

  4. Well now that Wade has injured his finger, I guess he won’t be inserting that “digit ” into Gabrielle’s union device ? Great effort against the Wizards at home though… gotta love an over-hyped team.

I for one wouldn’t mind making a deposit into Gabrielle’s account!

    • CDR says:

That’s why you’re the man Alan, you always say the wackiest things. Nonetheless, Wade’s finger x-rays were negative, which is good news for the Miami Heat. The guy is a warrior so we would expect him to be on the floor come playoff time.

  5. No doubt, it’s great to have someone who supports what you do, but it’s never easy to drown out the voice of someone close to you when your attempting to do your work… especially sports.

    • CDR says:

Trust me, I’m on board with you Jed. If I was Dwyane Wade, I would’ve put Gabrielle Union inside the box seats. Of course, I am not D-Wade and he preferred to still have his love near the court. Wade definitely experienced his share of negative criticism throughout the years so I am sure a bit from his future wife is not as bad as we think.

  6. Sometimes female sports fans can be a scary thing. Even Gabrielle Union.

    • CDR says:

Could you imagine how Gabrielle Union watches big sports games in the house? She is probably ONE person you don’t want to sit next to.
