What’s going on out there in ESPN land nowadays?

First, it was Michelle Beadle leaving to go to NBC. Now, Erin Andrews has exited and could possibly land a “major role” with FOX Sports.

Erin Andrews’ contract with ESPN will expire this coming Saturday and will no longer be an employee for the network. ESPN public relations official, Mike Soltys had released the surprising news via Twitter. ESPN reportedly expressed great interest in Erin Andrews, but as of this coming Saturday, the beautiful American sportscaster and co-host of College GameDay will be moving on.

So where is Erin Andrews headed?

According to SI.com, courtesy of Richard Deitsch, FOX’s top executives had recently met with Erin Andrews via conference meeting discussing Andrews’ huge opportunity with the network, specifically pertaining to FOX’s college football coverage.

Nothing at the moment has been set in stone, although it seems to be utterly clear that the “face” ESPN once brought up will now be roaming the college sidelines with a rival network.

FOX supposedly has invested a tremendous amount of money covering college football. It makes sense to take the next step as a network and dominate the competition by landing one of the more popular sportscasters on television.

ESPN better wake up. Sage Steele could be next.

Funny all you need to do to make it big…… a video of a person either being sexually overt… to “: make them blow up big” and gain some exposure. Kim Kardashian and Ray J’s soft porn video.

In the case of Erin Andrews, it’s a perv’ videotaping her while she’s in a hotel room undressing and the next thing, there’s empathy and now she’s off to the big leagues in terms of journalism.

So Patriots’ resident dumb a#s Bob Kraft wants to see an NFL franchise in Europe ? What hasn’t he and Goodell learned from the NFL Europe experience and the fact that the experiment lost the league countless millions over the tenure of its existence?

    • CDR says:

Thanks for stopping by Alan. That’s what it seems to be nowadays, try get “BIG” no matter the circumstance and worry about the rest later.

In terms of the Patriots, I did hear Robert Kraft insinuating of a possible NFL team in Europe. I could be wrong, but the St. Louis Rams were rumored to be the team that makes the move if it ever were to happen. Can’t blame the NFL for trying again I guess.

Would you consider Foxsports a step up in the food chain for Andrews? Really?

    • CDR says:

Hey Alan, ESPN will continue to remain as one of sports’ juggernauts, but for Erin Andrews to leave, that means FOX really pulled out the money wagon for the sportscaster. So with that, on top of FOX’s heavy interest in the PAC 10 and college football… Yes, I think FOX would be a pretty good move for Andrews.

  3. I am a bit shocked she didn’t stay in the ABC/ESPN/Disney family, assuming she wanted to play multiple roles in both the entertainment and sports divisions (lines of which are blurry at best). It’s possible they simply would not commit to growing her brand on either side and, along with FOX backing the armored truck up to her door, she decided what she wanted as her present employer was simply never going to materialize.

    • CDR says:

Yes, at first I was a bit shocked myself, but you just never know in the entertainment business. People just come and go. Andrews literally signed her contract with FOX as soon as her deal with ESPN expired.

  4. She’s leaving and she’s taking her peephole with her.
