Once FBI director, Louis Freeh, who thoroughly investigated the Penn State scandal released his full report, the world was able to finally figure out what exactly happened inside the Penn State locker rooms.

In Freeh’s 267-page documented report, shocking information about Penn State coach Joe Paterno was also found. It appeared that even though Paterno knew of Ex-Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky’s horrendous crimes, coach Paterno turned his head away multiple occasions and disregarded one of the most infamous crimes that ever occurred in sports history.

Coach Joe Paterno turned the other cheek for one main reason, to somehow still protect his coaching legacy. Now that the Freeh report has been released, many people are adamantly requesting for the Joe Paterno statue located inside the Penn State campus to be taken down.

Even with all the commotion, Penn State University along with the board of trustees has made the decision to leave the statue alone for the meantime. The university will make its ultimate decision after a few months when all the media surrounding the topic has subsided.

It’s seems this particular decision by the school hasn’t actually been accepted well by the people. On Tuesday morning, an aerial banner was reportedly flying above the Penn State campus.

The banner carried a warning signal, which stated:

“TAKE THE STATUE DOWN OR WE WILL”

Clearly, there are other people out there that intend to take matters into their own hands.

  1. Jeremy Wiebe says:

The statue must be taken down and Penn State deserves the death penalty. What officials did at that school are far more heinous than what happened at SMU in the 1980s. Penn State is now my most hated team in college football.

    • CDR says:

Wow, the death penalty huh? I think Penn State should take a little break from college football [2-3 years], re-create the school environment, and definitely take down the Paterno statue. Coach Paterno was a legend in the school, but that legend is now known as the Penn State scandal.

Either they move the statue from the front of Beaver Stadium or implode the damn thing.

As for Jay Paterno, he should simply shut the hell up. He’s trying to defend his father’s actions and he is now coming across as a complete joke. And his understanding of the law is like either Michele Bachmann or Sarah Palin trying to suggest that they comprehend the rudimentaries of macroeconomics. Neither are that bright to begin with and neither is Jay Paterno for that matter! The guy is an a##hole!

    • CDR says:

I agree Alan. The statue unfortunately needs to go down. There’s no other way to look at it. As for Jay Paterno, the smartest thing to do right now is to just be quiet. His words are getting him in trouble every time he speaks.

  3. So do they have full-time security around this statue or what?

    • CDR says:

People are not happy right now so If I was one of the trustees of the University, I would highly recommend it.

  4. To paraphrase Reagan… “Mr Gorbachev tear down these walls!” In the case of PSU… move the statue of Paterno elsewhere, from Beaver Stadium.

    • CDR says:

In order for Penn State to move forward and start a new beginning, I don’t see how the statue could stay in campus. Coach Paterno had done a lot for the university, but this is just one situation where the past could never be forgotten.
