After Team USA had punished Tunisia by 47 points, Nigeria would be the United States next victim.
From the outset of the game, it was known that the Americans were going to win decisively. Indeed the United States did, but this time… in record-breaking fashion. The United States crushed Nigeria today with the final score of 156-73.
With the high score, the U.S. Men’s Basketball Team had broken the all-time single game output of 138 points set by the 1988 Brazilian National Team.
The United States shot a total of 29 three-pointers, posted an amazing 71% clip from the field and was simply unstoppable throughout the entire game. So impressive that Team USA found themselves leading by 83 points when the scoreboard read nothing but zeros. It was a truly great display of pure talent and domination.
The Nigerians might have not won the game and even though they’ll be known as the Olympic team that gave up over 150 points to their opponent, they can always look on the bright side. At least they dropped James Harden.
“Down Goes Harden… Down Goes Harden!” Now, that was embarrassing.

That looked painful. LOL! The beard didn’t help Harden on that play.
Yup, the “beard” gave up on that play before it even started… Harden looked as if he was doing the electric slide.
The result itself wasn’t surprising but Krzyzewski and his in actions and post-game interview lost a great deal of credibility. It was classless and insulting . To suggest the team wasn’t running up the score when the evidence suggested otherwise was an insult to a basketball fan’s intelligence.
Penn St’s Silas Redd will become a USC Trojan. Go Trojans! Not that I’ve ever been a PAC 12 fan to begin with!
My allegiances lay with the SEC……. best conference in College Football by far!

tophatal……
We’re not sure if anything had to do with intentionally running up the score, but Team USA did, plain and simple. Now, we don’t have a problem with it just because most people are always comparing the team to the 1992 Dream Team. We feel it was a good showing on Team USA’s part to show people exactly how good they can be. Yet, even with the all-time record, we will stay with the 1992 Dream Team to be the far more superior team.
If this team isn’t careful, it’ll be embarrassed far more than what some Nigerian kid did to James Harden’s ankles.
Goodness Chris you’re good. Team USA almost got embarrassed by Lithuania. This team better stay focused.
