Nothing gets better than watching a wide receiver launch himself up in the air and somehow catch a ball that instantly seemed to be overthrown. Against Miami (Ohio) in the second quarter, Ohio State’s WR Devin Smith did just that as he leaped towards the back of the end zone snagging the football with just one hand. It was simply jaw dropping.
Could this be? In just the first week of college football, we might already have the “catch of the year.”
It’s official. The 2012 college football season has arrived!

WOW!
Unbelievable right? What a catch!
Phenomenal play! That being said College Football still remains a joke. Oklahoma St. beating Savannah St. 84-0? Cans of whup a#s are now meant to be a way of legitimizing how good a college program happens to be and to justify a team’s ranking?
Tophatal ……………..
C’mon Alan, college football can’t be that bad for you. It’s exciting! Of course, you’ll get blowout games like the Oklahoma St./Savannah St. game, but it’s not Oklahoma St.’s fault they have a great running game. Stick with it, there’ll be some crazy ones to come.
I’m all about competition, it’s just that I’d like to see both sides give a competent effort! Not just one team coming to play and that’s it!!
Tophatal ……..
We definitely hear you Alan, heck we would love for every game and for each team to be equally matched… it certainly will make for even better football. The reality is that Savannah State just isn’t on the same platform as Oklahoma State. Plain and simple.
Nasty!
Yes indeed. You won’t see many TD catches like this one.
