Coach Chuck Pagano’s Sentimental Speech After Colts Victory (Video)

The Indianapolis Colts led by rookie QB Andrew Luck’s record-breaking 433 passing yards to go along with two touchdowns was enough to secure the victory against the Miami Dolphins in Week 9 of the NFL season. With the win, the Colts move up to 5-3, a record that not many people anticipated for this young team nearly halfway into the season.

In the locker room after the victory, the entire Colts’ organization were celebrating, surprisingly not because the team won the game (players and coaches did plenty of that already), but for the simple reason that their coach Chuck Pagano was present to witness everything with his own two eyes.

For those who don’t know, Chuck Pagano had been diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia a month ago. Pagano had been away from his team ever since he had learned that he had the disease. It was only during the Colts/Dolphins game that coach Chuck Pagano was able to visit and see his team play for the first time.

Chuck Pagano’s emotional speech after the game to his players and colleagues was sincere and every person in that locker room knew that this was as important to Pagano as it was to them. Without a doubt, it was one of the most uplifting speeches any coach could say to his team.

Great speech. This sent chills down my spine. I’m starting to like this Colts team.

    • CDR says:

This year’s Colts definitely play hard. Of course, the talent of Andrew Luck also helps, but a team that knows it has something to fight for always is a good thing.

  2. To see what Pagano has been through and then you consider the events surrounding another former Colts’ head coach, with Tony Dungy and the death of his son. It makes you feel that one cannot take anything for granted, much less our own mortality for that matter. I wish Pagano a full and speedy recovery!

We hear you Alan. Wow, that’s a shame with Tony Dungy huh? We wish him and his family the best. You just never know what life is going to deal you, which is why you live life to the fullest at all times. God bless Chuck Pagano.
