Probably the most popular martial artist on the planet, you’d be glad to know that Anderson “The Spider” Silva will be fighting again. However, it’s not what you think. Anderson Silva, along with his close friend and movie star Steven Seagal is set to play a part in an action-packed police movie (title hasn’t been released yet).

According to reports, Anderson Silva had informed UFC website, FightersOnly.com that he had already received the movie script and will be practicing his part in the next few days.

Per FightersOnly.com, the “Spider” wanted to make sure that he was given the movie part because of talent and not due to any politics since Silva is indeed one of the most famous fighters in UFC. If martial artists, such as Rampage Jackson (A-Team) and Cung Le (Fighting) can do it, then we’re pretty sure that Anderson Silva would have no problem fitting in. After all, the film will be an action movie, which is right down “Spider’s” alley.

“I don’t want to be seen as somebody who caught the role because I am on the media and to be a fighter,” said Silva. “Of course it is difficult, I am not Lorenzo Lamas, but I want to do it well done to the people see that I am a good actor.”

Let’s put it this way, if Anderson Silva is going to be kicking butt in a movie, good actor or not, we’re watching. We’re glad that Anderson Silva is benefiting from his popularity. Heck, if everyone’s doing it, why not give it a try?

Good move “Spider.”

  1. I agree, man.

If UFC can be a launching pad for these guys to star in action films, then more power to ‘em.

Besides, I’m sure they’d rather be reciting movie lines and smooching on lead actresses than getting repeatedly pounded in their cauliflower ear.

Most definitely. We really hope Silva’s movie career launches. The guy is humble, respectful and deserves all the recognition.

  2. Perhaps one “Spider” is done, with that role he might think about repeating that a#s kicking he handed out to the scum bag and avowed doping cheat, Chael Sonnen.

No chance of a big money day, with a mega-fight between Silva and GSP, or between Jon Jones and Spider.

    Tophatal …………

We’re with you Alan. We would want nothing more than to watch either GSP or Jon Jones fight Anderson Silva, but just like Mayweather and Pacquiao, it seems far from reality. Unfortunately, it’s the sad truth.
