This past Friday, unsigned NFL free agent Vince Young received his degree from the University of Texas.
Given all the trials and tribulations in Vince Young’s NFL career, the third overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft managed to at least shed some light on his personal life.
“I’m about to be the first in my family to graduate,” Young said. “Just finishing what I started. That’s why I’m trying to get back in the NFL. To finish what I started. That is the type of guy I am. I do work hard — even when the times are good or bad. That’s just how I was raised.”
Let’s hope with this degree, Young is able to avoid unnecessary parties and instead is able to turn his focus on returning back to the NFL in great shape.
Vince Young will be turning 30-years-old so his years in the NFL are numbered. There hasn’t been too much conversation in relation to Vince Young so it would probably take one or two major QB injuries from several teams for Young to get another shot. At this point, it’s more of a “wait and see” process.
Congratulations Vince Young!
