The Miami Heat had won their second consecutive NBA Championship with a Game 7 win over the San Antonio Spurs. The Heat took the title with the score of 95-88 and multi-platinum rapper Drake was in the stands. Drake may be one of the most famous rappers in the world and with that kind of celebrity comes entitlement, but it was all about the Miami Heat players. After Game 7 was over, Drake was barred from entering the locker room to take part in the post-game celebrations.

The Miami Heat hit the jackpot just as if they had won big at as they have now won back to back championships and has firmly cemented themselves into NBA history as the ultimate team to beat. When Drake tried to enter the Heat locker room and congratulate his team, it never crossed his mind that he would be stopped from entering the room of the champions of two years in a row. Drake was quickly blocked and informed of his rights, one of which was not being allowed to enter the locker room without a credential; and that being a famous rapper clearly wasn’t going to cut it as one.

Drake was left stranded outside while the media took full advantage of being invited in to join the madness. Drake may have had great court-side seats, but it seemed that there was a limit on his celebrity status. On the night Miami had won the championship, the Heat team members and coaches were the biggest celebrities inside the arena.

Attending NBA games seems to be a regular pastime for many celebrities and often the front rows are packed with everyone from David Beckham to Justin Bieber and Rihanna. The cameras seem to spend more time focused on them than on the game. Drake shun at the NBA Finals was a turn for the books and it showed that for once, being a celebrity couldn’t get you an all-access pass.

In the end, Drake still won out, as hours after he was barred from the locker room celebrations, he was seen dancing on stage with Dwyane Wade and LeBron James celebrating the Heat’s win at STORY Nightclub in South Beach, Miami.

  1. Drake ? I hear he`s got a date wit Chris Brown , wherein they both reenact a scene from the movie `Brokeback Mountain` . I guess the rapper will start from the bottom while Brown starts elsewhere ?

It`ll be fun this off-season as teams around the NBA find other ways of proving what a clown Daivd Stern remains , when he suggests that teams are financially solvent .

Hilarious Alan. The “Brokeback Mountain” reference was classic. Wherever Drake is, he always seems to find the spotlight. Got to love celebrities.

  2. I’m perfectly okay with Drake being left out of the locker room.

Last time I checked, he wasn’t knocking down key jumpers for the team.

    • CDR says:

We agree. The celebration inside the locker room should only be intended for coaches, players and individuals associated with the team. Celebrities can wait in the clubs.

  3. who wants a trouble maker at their celebration party??? next thing you kno, bottles will be flying and drake’s going to be talking crap about people who were there. stay home, lame asz.

    • CDR says:

Thanks for the comment Elijah. As soon as you mentioned bottles being thrown, we immediately thought about Tony Parker getting injured due to the Chris Brown/Drake club brawl. We definitely know what you mean.
